Our Origins
A doting mother of a son with a developmental disability, our founder and CEO, Sherry Donahue-Brown, has an enduring history of a personal stake in this industry. After years working for Fort Worth ISD and taking on an active role in community programs like Special Olympics and Miracle League, she came across many families, most not unlike hers, with under-served needs for their loved ones. A real change had to be made and she had a firm commitment to improving their lives.
Her undergraduate background was in Business Administration along with a heavy emphasis on Sociology and Criminal Justice. She went on to receive her Masters in Special Education from Texas Christian University and began leading a series of behavioral management seminars and workshops. "You hold the key" has always been our guiding mantra, instilling a sense of choice and independence in each client we serve. For families needing assistance in coping with unmanageable behaviors, Mrs. Brown was just a phone call away, well-equipped to offer counsel and in-home support. From there the idea of Behaviorist On Call was born.
Since its incorporation in 2004, several contracts with the State of Texas have been procured and the panel of services BOC offers has expanded. We have grown as a provider from one woman offering support services to families, to over 100 employees serving clients throughout 22 counties. We now own and operate numerous residential facilities as well as a Day Habilitation Center. We are proud to have made such an impact in the greater North Texas community after having grown in leaps and bounds over the past decade. Our commitment is to quality and dependable care; our commitment is to you.
Sherry serves on the board and is a proud member PACSTX (Providers Alliance for Community Services of Texas).
