how boc is responding
The safety of our consumers, employees and families has always been our top priority. The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has had a large impact on our community, and we continue to monitor this evolving situation closely. With guidance from federal and state authorities, we are prepared to make real-time decisions for everyone’s wellbeing.
As we learn more each day, we want you to know that we are taking immediate steps to minimize the impact of COVID-19. We are closely following guidelines from Health & Human Services (HHSC), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) on steps we can all take to minimize the spread of the virus. As such, we have equipped our facilities with extra cleaning supplies and personnel protective equipment (PPE). Our employees have been advised to follow pre-screening protocol and their temperatures are checked before entering each common location. Additionally, safety measures have been put in place such as regular handwashing, ongoing sanitization of surfaces, social distancing, and encouraging people to stay at home if they feel unwell. We are asking all employees to seek appropriate medical attention if they have symptoms. To ensure continuity of care for the families we serve around the clock, BOC is considered an “essential” health care provider as defined by the Department of Labor. Because of this, operations will continue uninterrupted and all employees will still have the option to work. During this national crisis, many companies have reduced their workforce through layoffs. However, we have made accommodations to ensure everyone can still work the same hours and continue to provide for their families. Our employees are at the heart of our business and we want to show our appreciation for their dedication and service each day. Please be assured that we are committed to doing all that we can to “flatten the curve” and support the health and safety of everyone on our team. We will continue to work closely with government officials and local authorities to make sure our business practices serve the community in the best way possible. As we navigate these changes, we will evaluate our options and provide regular updates throughout this time. Feel free to visit our new web page for important news and resources regarding COVID-19. You can also now send a contact request, and a member of our care management team will reach out to you within 24 hours. We will keep looking for innovative ways to stay connected and work through this together. Thank you for being a valued part of the BOC family.
