Who We Are
BOC’s Day Individualized Skills & Socialization Center offers functional academic learning with additional community-based activities for people of all levels and age groups. Our classes and activities are engaging, age-appropriate, and most importantly designed with each person in mind. We strive to create inclusive opportunities while treating our participants with the quality care they both expect and deserve. Operating under the idea that a one-size-fits-all approach does not foster individual needs, we consider the needs of each person who walks through our doors by custom-tailoring lessons and activities. Depending on their needs, we provide targeted teacher-student ratios in an interactive group environment.
Key Features
- New Technology Center with work/computer stations to develop technology and job-readiness skills
- New Recreation Center with indoor cycling, sports games, inflatable mega-bowling, and light exercise equipment
- BOC Shop – a mock store designed to reinforce skills such as money management, understanding pricing and merchandising, and working with lines of credit. Many of our consumers are encouraged to volunteer as sales associates or stockers to develop real-world job-related skills. Volunteers will earn BOC Bucks™ and can spend them at the store!
- Private Shaded Patio Garden with a large built-in deck and grilling stations
- Open Courtyards with scenic views throughout the Office Park grounds – ideal for quiet meditation or social gatherings!
- Field Trips - transportation offered to fun community outings such as the bowling alley, State Fair, newly-renovated Gateway Park, The Stockyards, and the museum.
