Residential Support Staff: Ideal Candidates
- Recent college graduates or those pursuing a degree in Human Services or a related field
- Current nursing students or Certified Nurses Aides
- Family members of individuals with an intellectual or developmental disability
- Those with a demonstrated passion for helping others
Core Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience working or volunteering to assist individuals with a intellectual or developmental disability
- Valid and clean Texas driver's license, active automotive insurance, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel
- Must meet training requirements prescribed by the State and company, including but not limited to First Aid, CPR, and medication administration
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
A Day in the Life
- Encourage clients living in our residential centers to develop socialization skills while creating opportunities for recreation, leisure, and hobbies
- Accurately communicate and complete all documentation for individual program plans
- Ensure consumer care needs are met and established standards are exceeded in areas such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, cleaning, and other daily living skills
- Serve as an appropriate role model and engage in interactions which ensure the rights of all clients and their families
- Act as a professional representative of BOC with regards to appearance, behavior, communication, and dress
- Shifts are available around the clock
